Description
Couple (blurred) walking on a cold winter night
The photo was taken on February 28, 2013 in Richmond Hill, Ontario, only 300 meters from Yonge Street, the main thoroughfare. I captured the image right on my street, just one block from my home. Gentle wet snow was falling for one full day and two nights, and it was clinging to the tree branches. Every morning the wind and slightly warmer temperature caused the accumulated snow to fall down from the branches, so the night was the best time to photograph the beautiful scenery. The overhead street light helped to illuminate the snow-laden branches of the trees below and it also affected the colour of the sky.
The temperature outside was quite pleasant, just below the freezing point, so I didn't need any gloves, and there was enough ambient light to read the dials and settings on the camera . Technical data: Nikon D300 on tripod, 50mm/2.0 lens at F11 and 5 seconds. This photo is available also as a stock image download from http://advantica.com/stockphotos/
